Interprofessional Health Sciences
The Bachelor of Science in Interprofessional Health Sciences (B.S. in IPHS) is a new undergraduate health science major at Seton Hall University. This innovative program has been carefully designed to meet the evolving healthcare needs of the 21st century. Located in the Interprofessional Health Sciences and Health Administration Department, along with the Ph.D. in Health Sciences and Master of Healthcare Administration programs, the program offers three distinctive yet versatile concentrations:
- Health Sciences Administration and Management: Students take courses in the foundations of creating and implementing health policy and management, as well as study Healthcare Leadership and Team Dynamics to align with the School’s interprofessional education mission. A Capstone course is part of this concentration and an internship is offered and strongly encouraged.
- Exercise Science: Students take courses such as exercise physiology, exercise program designs for special populations, nutrition and several others. Other courses are taken with students in the Biology and Chemistry department to align with the School’s interprofessional education mission. An internship is required in this concentration.
- Pharmaceutical and Health Sciences Marketing: Students take course such as Health Consumerism and Pharmaceutical and clinical promotions. A Capstone course is part of this concentration and an internship is strongly encouraged.
This health science major degree will provide a flexible course of study that enables you to gain a broad-based understanding of the healthcare field and a holistic understanding of health issues and challenges. Majoring in Interprofessional Health Sciences prepares you for meaningful roles in the rapidly evolving and complex world of healthcare.
We also offer a 3+2 program – B.S. in IPHS (Exercise Science track) plus M.S. in Athletic Training.
