Gaming Sector Club and Esports Host 13th Annual Extra Life Game Day
Wednesday, October 14, 2026
Seton Hall University's Gaming Sector Club and Esports program will bring the University
community together for 24 hours of gaming in support of children's hospitals during
the 13th Annual Extra Life Game Day. Beginning at 8 a.m. on Saturday, November 7,
the event will feature in-person activities throughout Jubilee Hall before transitioning
to an overnight virtual gaming marathon.
Extra Life is a fundraising program benefiting Children's Miracle Network Hospitals that brings gaming communities together to support children receiving medical care. Through gaming marathons and other events, participants raise funds to help hospitals provide critical treatment and resources for young patients. Since its launch in 2008, the Extra Life community has raised more than $145 million for children's hospitals.
Seton Hall's Gaming Sector Club has a longstanding tradition of participating in Extra Life, bringing students together each year to combine their enthusiasm for gaming with a commitment to community service. This year's event continues that tradition with opportunities for both experienced players and newcomers to participate.
24 Hours of Gaming for a Cause
The 2026 Extra Life Game Day will feature 12 hours of in-person activities on Saturday, November 7, followed by an additional 12 hours of online programming through Sunday morning.
Join the In-Person Activities
From 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Jubilee Hall will host gaming activities across multiple locations, including the Seton Hall Esports Lab in Room 524. Classrooms, computer labs and other gathering spaces will also be available to accommodate activities throughout the day.
The event will offer opportunities for casual gaming and friendly competition, giving participants a chance to connect with fellow members of the Seton Hall community while supporting a charitable cause.
Students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends of the University are welcome to attend. No competitive gaming experience is necessary, and participants can stop by for an activity or spend several hours enjoying the event.
Participate Virtually
At 8 p.m., the Gaming Sector Club's executive board will take the event online for an additional 12 hours of programming. Virtual activities will continue overnight until 8 a.m. on Sunday, November 8, completing the 24-hour gaming marathon.
Those unable to attend in person can participate online and join the fundraising effort from wherever they are.
