Seton Hall Esports Set for Fall 2026 Season Openers

Seton Hall Esports returns to competition beginning Monday, September 14, as five varsity teams prepare
to open their PlayVS Collegiate seasons.
The Pirates enter the new season looking to build on a successful spring 2026 campaign that saw all five varsity teams advance to postseason competition. Overwatch and VALORANT each finished fourth in the BIG EAST, while Super Smash Bros. Ultimate reached the conference championship and finished as runner-up. League of Legends and Rocket League capped the conference season by capturing BIG EAST Championships, earning both teams opportunities to represent Seton Hall in national postseason competition, where they ultimately fell to the eventual champions.
Facing programs from across the country, the Pirates will use the fall season to develop their rosters, integrate new players and build team chemistry before returning to BIG EAST competition in the spring. Each varsity team will begin PlayVS Collegiate competition on a different date, with season openers scheduled throughout September:
- League of Legends: Monday, September 14
- Rocket League: Tuesday, September 15
- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate: Friday, September 18
- Overwatch: Wednesday, September 23
- VALORANT: Thursday, September 24

Varsity Tryouts Continue
Students interested in joining a Seton Hall Esports varsity team still have an opportunity to try out. Remaining fall 2026 tryouts include:
- League of Legends:Thursday, September 10 at 7 p.m.
- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate: Friday, September 11 at 7 p.m.
- Overwatch: Monday, September 14 at 7 p.m.
- VALORANT: Thursday, September 17 at 5 p.m.
All tryouts take place in the Esports Lab, Jubilee Hall, Room 524. Interested students can sign up for their respective varsity tryout.
