Seton Hall Esports Participates in Inaugural Garden State College Combine

Esports combine tableOn February 7, Seton Hall Esports proudly participated in the inaugural Garden State Esports College Combine, a groundbreaking recruiting and development event. The Combine brought together 65 of the top student competitors from across the state and 29 colleges from around the country, creating one of the most impactful collegiate recruiting environments New Jersey has seen to date. In total, 181 recruitment offers were made across participating programs, demonstrating how structured, in-person evaluation can create meaningful opportunities for students pursuing collegiate esports.

Representing Seton Hall was Esports Manager Victor Gomez, along with coaches, captains and student-athletes from the Rocket League and League of Legends teams. High school players also connected with the Pirates’ delegation, gaining the opportunity to engage directly with collegiate staff and student leaders in person. Throughout the event, coaches evaluated talent beyond in-game performance, while captains and student-athletes shared insight into the experience of competing at the collegiate level.

By attending the inaugural College Combine with a large and diverse group, Seton Hall reinforced its commitment to recruitment, mentorship and community engagement while supporting New Jersey’s growing esports ecosystem. The event highlighted pathways in competition, broadcasting, production and technology, aligning with the program’s focus on developing well-rounded student leaders. Participation further strengthens Seton Hall University’s presence in collegiate esports, as the Pirates continue to invest in emerging talent and help shape the next generation of competitors.
