Seton Hall Esports Announces 2027 Gen.G Practicum in Seoul
Wednesday, October 21, 2026
Seton Hall University Esports will return to Seoul, South Korea, next summer for the Gen.G Global Practicum Abroad Program, offering students a firsthand look at one of the world's leading gaming markets.
Scheduled for July 26 through August 6, 2027, the two-week program combines hands-on
industry projects with opportunities to experience South Korea's esports culture.
Reflecting the program's theme, “Turn Your Passion into a Career,” the practicum encourages students to apply classroom knowledge in a professional setting. Participants can choose from five project tracks: business, marketing, education, content creation and game design. Through collaborative assignments, they will examine how esports organizations operate and develop practical skills relevant to their career interests.
Beyond project work, students will participate in specialized lectures and mentorship sessions led by Gen.G professionals. Discussions with senior executives will offer a closer look at strategic decision-making and the challenges facing the global esports industry.
Professional Development and Cultural Immersion
Beyond the professional components of the practicum, students will have opportunities to explore South Korea's gaming culture and experience life in Seoul. Cultural activities and esports immersion will complement their project work, providing a broader perspective on the country's influence within the global gaming industry. The program includes accommodations, weekday lunches, a special dinner and local transportation, along with visa support. Participants will also receive a certificate of completion and commemorative gift.
The 2027 practicum continues Seton Hall Esports' efforts to extend learning beyond varsity competition, offering students from a range of academic disciplines an opportunity to explore career interests through international experience. Additional information about applications, eligibility and registration will be shared through Seton Hall Esports as it becomes available.
