Seton Hall’s Peace Corps Prep program prepares undergraduate students for meaningful global service, including potential service with the Peace Corps. Through experiential learning, community service, targeted coursework and professional development, students build the skills, knowledge and cultural understanding needed to work effectively in communities around the world.
Open to undergraduate students in any major, minor or academic year, the program offers a structured pathway to explore global service while developing competencies that can support a wide range of academic and career goals.

Who should participate in this program?

• Undergraduate students in any major, minor or academic year who are interested in global service;
• Students considering future service with the Peace Corps;
• Students interested in international development, community engagement or cross-cultural work;
• Students seeking hands-on experience and leadership development beyond the classroom;
• Students looking to build skills that translate to careers in education, health, environmental work, community development and other fields.

Program Format:

The Peace Corps Prep program combines selected coursework, experiential-based community service and professional development to help students prepare for global service.

Students develop competencies in three key areas:

• Sector-Specific Training and Experience
  Build knowledge and hands-on experience connected to one of the Peace Corps’ six work sectors: agriculture, community economic development, education, environment, health and youth in development.
  
  
• Intercultural Competence
  Develop the cultural awareness and skills needed to work collaboratively and respectfully across communities and cultures.
  
  
• Professional and Leadership Development
  Strengthen the leadership, professional and communication skills needed to contribute effectively in service-oriented environments.

Peace Corps Prep Certificate

Students who successfully complete the program will earn a Peace Corps certificate of completion, along with a Seton Hall digital badge recognizing their preparation for global service.
