The Way to Nicaea Symposium

October 23, 2025
The Bernard J. Lonergan Institute is hosting an afternoon symposium on Lonergan’s account of Nicene doctrine’s intellectual development through Christianity’s earliest centuries.

In honor of the 1700th anniversary of the Council of Nicaea, the Lonergan Institute will host two panels discussing the “Prolegomena” of Lonergan’s 1960s work, The Triune God: Doctrines, since published as The Way to Nicea.

Speakers will include Monsignor Richard Liddy (Seton Hall), Jeremy Wilkins, Ph.D. (Boston College), Samantha Miller, Ph.D. (Whitworth University), and Joshua McManaway, Ph.D. (University of Notre Dame).
