The Stillman educational experience is defined by two distinctive elements – our focus on transforming concepts into practice and our commitment to a close-knit community where students, faculty and alumni are true partners in the learning endeavor.

With our small class sizes and emphasis on personalized attention, students in our graduate programs have the opportunity to develop close relationships with faculty. One of the many benefits that results is the opportunity for collaboration on research projects and publications. Let me share just a few examples from the past year.

In spring 2012, MBA students Jay Shah and Alyson Nardi collaborated with their supply chain management professor, Dr. Penina Orenstein, on an empirical examination of supply chain management in a hospital setting. Their paper was subsequently presented, by Ms. Nardi, at the prestigious Manufacturing and Service Operations Management (MSOM) Conference hosted by Columbia University. Dr. Orenstein also collaborated on an inventory forecasting project with MBA student Timothy Stalker, which resulted in a publication in the Journal of Operations and Logistics. The article subsequently earned a "Bright Idea Award," in recognition of its value to business practitioners and the significance of its contribution to advancing the literature.

MBA students Melissa Montuori and Lindsey Puliti recently learned that articles they co-authored with their Legal Studies professor, Dr. Richard Hunter, will be published in the Loyola Consumer Law Review and the International Journal of Academic Research in Business and Social Sciences, respectively.

Stillman faculty members believe that learning in a graduate program is a non-stop proposition that transcends the confines of a classroom. We'd love to have you visit our campus and sit in on one of our graduate courses so that you can witness the faculty-student engagement that takes place. Once you've seen for yourself, I know you'll want to join us!
