Assessment Day Instructions
On Assessment Day, students must report to the registration table, located immediately outside Room 132, Jubilee Hall, at least one hour before the start of their panels. There, students will receive the names of their assessors. We recommend that all team members report to the registration table together.Then, students should proceed to their assigned rooms and prepare the computer and projection equipment that they will use in their presentations. All teams must start their presentations exactly on time. Students will have up to 40 minutes to present the answers to the case questions. The assessors will then have approximately 20 minutes to pose questions and provide feedback to the team. Students should prepare and distribute paper copies of their presentations to their assessors. Students MUST use technology while presenting.
Following the team presentation, students will have 60 minutes to complete the “individual component” portion of the assessment (30 minutes for the writing portion and 30 minutes for the financial analysis portion). Here, students will receive two assignments:the first assignment requires each student to prepare a written response to a question using Microsoft Word; the second assignment requires each student to complete a business task using Microsoft Excel. The Excel task will require accessing information via the Web. Therefore, at the start of the individual assignments, all laptops must be already connected to the Web and booted-up.
After completing the two individual assignments, each student will complete an evaluation of:
- the assessment process;
- his or her own contributions to the team’s work; and
- the contributions of the other team members.
Once this evaluation is completed and turned in to the assessors, students may leave.
