User Experience and Interface (UX/UI) Design
A User Experience (UX) Designer is responsible for shaping how a person feels when interacting with a digital interface. By conducting user research and analyzing behavior, UX designers create experiences that are functional, emotional and user-centered — designing products that are usable, desirable and enjoyable. A User Interface (UI) Designer focuses on the visual presentation of digital interfaces, designing elements such as the typography, color, imagery and layout to ensure aesthetic appeal and brand consistency.
The College of Human Development, Culture, and Media offers two 15-credit certificate programs that equip students with in-demand skills in UX/UI design. Both certificate programs emphasize inclusive, accessible design, teaching students how to create digital products that connect people to the information and services they need. Through studio-based courses, students gain hands-on experience designing websites, mobile applications and digital environments.
What Will You Learn?
