Whether you’re searching for that first job, or making a late career transition, today’s competitive job market requires a contemporary perspective on how to best present yourself in order to leverage maximum impact. Yesterday’s methods may not be the best way to find your next opportunity. You need a plan—and a strategy to attack it efficiently and proactively.
The Get Hired Boot Camp, a one day workshop for first time-job hunters, and mid-career changers, will give you the tools it takes to translate your value to meet the needs of a prospective employer. The workshop is taught by Bob Franco, a recognized thought leader with expertise in organizational change and strategy.
Come and join us for the Graduate Open House immediately following the workshop! Speak to admissions directors and faculty about opportunities to build on your skills in any one of our degree or certificate programs to boost your career. Light refreshments will be served at the event being held in the Main Lounge of the University Center between 12:00 and 3:00 p.m. Register today at here
The workshop will cover two major topics:
- Interviewing to Get Offers - Presenting a Professional Value-adding Image
- The Role of Social Media and Networking in a Job Search.
Content will include an overview of different types of interviews, networking and resumes: their purposes and objectives. The program also provides critical insight into thinking like an employer, selling your best attributes based on need, proper research and preparation, and some valuable do's and don'ts that can score a win - or derail your best efforts.
