Seton Hall’s 100% online D.N.P. program welcomes both post-B.S.N. and post-M.S.N. nurses ready to deepen their clinical and leadership expertise. The curriculum develops skills in clinical decision-making, organizational leadership, healthcare policy and systems improvement. Students collaborate with expert faculty on scholarly projects — such as improving prenatal care or advancing chronic disease management — that have earned recognition in academic and healthcare settings.

- Graduate of an A.C.E.N. or C.C.N.E. accredited Baccalaureate or Master’s Program in Nursing with a minimum of 3.0 GPA (GPA requirements for dual degree applicants is determined by specialty of interest)

- Personal statement (not more than 1,000 words) outlining career goals and objectives, career progress and area of interest for Scholarly Project

Curriculum Overview
Seton Hall’s Doctor of Nursing Practice curriculum blends advanced coursework with clinical immersion, offering tailored pathways for post-B.S.N. and post-M.S.N. students to build expertise in advanced practice or nurse leadership roles.
The College of Nursing offers a 31-37 credit program for students with an M.S.N. with a major in Advanced Practice Nursing (Direct Care) or Nursing Administration and Nurse Executive Leadership (Indirect Care), leading to the D.N.P. degree, or a 71-77 credit dual-degree program for post-baccalaureate students. The dual-degree program provides the opportunity to earn both the M.S.N. and D.N.P. degrees.
This terminal degree prepares graduates to improve health care outcomes for diverse populations through applied research, health care systems analysis and leadership in developing practice models, health policy and standards of care. The D.N.P. curriculum includes core courses in theory and research, as well as didactic and clinical coursework in a chosen specialty — either Advanced Practice Nursing (APN) or Nursing Administration and Nurse Executive Leadership.

Not for the asynchronous online course work. You will have specific assignment deadlines and test dates, but you can complete your online coursework at times that are convenient for you.
How many clinical hours does the program require?
The D.N.P. requires a total of 1,000 clinical hours. For post-MSN students, total clinical hours will be determined by a GAP analysis.
