"Fortitude and Fatigue: The Current State of the War in Ukraine"

Ukraine TrisentThursday, October 12th, 2023, at 6:30 p.m., in Fahy 236, the Slavic Club, will be sponsoring a discussion, "Fortitude and Fatigue: The Current State of the War in Ukraine", led by Nathaniel Knight, Ph.D., Director, Russian and East European Studies Program.

The war in Ukraine initiated by Russia’s unprovoked invasion has dragged on for 18 months with no end in sight. Signs are emerging that Western support may be starting to weaken. What are the prospects for a Ukrainian victory? Are negotiations possible?

What does the uprising led by Evgeny Prigozhin, and his subsequent demise, tell us about the state of the Russian military and Russian society? Why has the counteroffensive launched by Ukraine over the summer not led to more dramatic results?

Prof. NathanielCome, explore these issues and ask your own questions in this discussion led by Nathaniel Knight.

Everyone is welcome! Slavic food will be served!
