About the Center
The Center for Public Service serves as a fundraising, research and community outreach
arm of the nationally recognized Department of Political Science and Public Affairs. The department houses two graduate degree programs – a Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.) and a Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA).
The center coordinates interdisciplinary research with DPHA faculty and students,
and with them provides technical assistance to a wide range of government, nonprofit
and community-based organizations. The Center for Public Service also provides a number
of certificate and training programs to the general public. These include the Financial
Management Certificate Program and the Board Leadership Institute.
The center also coordinates all scholarship fundraising activities for students in
the Department of Political Science and Public Affair. Under the leadership of Center
director Dr. Naomi Wish, the Center for Public Services has provided scholarship to
hundreds of DPHA students interested in careers in the public and nonprofit sectors.

Goya Scholarships
Goya Scholarships provide partial scholarships for study in the M.P.A. program for any concentration area (Health Policy and Management, Public Service: Leadership, Governance and Policy, or Nonprofit Organization Management) to Latino/Latina students with demonstrated financial need.
