Thursday, April 11, at 6:30 p.m., in Fahy 236, Alisa Dupuy of "The Ladies of History" is returning to Seton Hall to reprise her role as Alexandra, the last Empress of Russia. Alisa started The Ladies of History in 2006 and performs in all manner of venues, including schools, universities, Tea Room, libraries and social clubs. She is a retired French teacher from Princeton and speaks five languages.

She has always loved history and dressing up and so has combined all of these skills to bring famous women in history to life. Alisa believes that learning history in this way is much more fun and engaging, and when we see history from the point of view of the people involved, it gives us a different perspective, so, for example, in this show about the Romanov dynasty, Alisa portrays, Alexandra of Russia.

Her circumstances are quite similar to those of Marie Antoinette and the French revolution. As we all know, Alexandra, her husband and all of their children were killed by the Bolsheviks in the Russian revolution in 1918. She is often blamed for the fall of the Romanov dynasty. Posthumously she was made a saint by the Russian orthodox church, and we look forward to having you come to hear about all of this from the Empress herself. You will get to know her and hear things from her perspective during this event.

The event is free and open to everybody. Slavic food will be served.
