Michael Soupios

Director of Digital Media and Web Development
Teaching Learning and Technology Center

As the Director of Digital Media and Web Development at Seton Hall University, I oversee an exceptionally creative team of Web Developers, UI/UX Designers and Digital Media Specialists. Our responsibilities include web, database and mobile app development as well as graphic design in traditional print and digital formats and all phases of video production.

Prior to my time at Seton Hall, I worked for six years at Columbia University's Center for New Media, Teaching and Learning (CCNMTL) at the Medical Center campus. There as an Educational Technologist, I specialized in applying my background in the Health Sciences to projects with the Medical, Dental, Nursing and School of Public Health faculty.

I have interests in the application of Social Media, Digital Badges, Game Theory, the effective use of Multimedia in Education, Project Management and Assessment. I have presented at conferences and workshops in the past on topics including Digital Badges, Gamification, Emerging Technologies, Large Scale Technology Deployments, Digital Storytelling, Mobile Applications, Emergency Preparedness and Technology, and the Assessment and Effective Use of Social Media.

Before getting into educational technology and multimedia, I worked in the fields of Sports Medicine and Motor Learning. In an effort to hold onto that past, I still teach Applied Anatomy and Biomechanics at Columbia University's Teachers College.
