Alumni Impact Award

craig
Craig McGraw '05

Craig McGraw, a 2005 Seton Hall alum, is the VP of Sales & Marketing for Trans American Trucking & Warehouse in South Plainfield, NJ. His position consists of covering the lower 48 states, Canada, and Europe to meet with customers and potential customers as well as keeping the website, social media and marketing material current.

In 2015 and 2020 Craig was the recipient of NJBIZ’s Forty Under 40 award and in 2018 he was invited to join the Forbes Magazine Business Development Council where he has written numerous published articles regarding various sales and marketing topics.

Other honors include receiving the National Police Defense Foundation’s Distinguished Member & Delegate award for his role in running the Freehold Boro Police Block Party promoting strong community relations between city's teens and the police department. In 2018 he also received the Seton Hall Good and Faithful Servant award for his work in conducting mock interviews and setting up a trip to Facebook New York City for the Seton Hall Arts & Science boot camp. In 2021 he was inducted into Marquis "Who's Who in America."

In addition to having served on the President's Advisory Group at Seton Hall University, Craig has also been a previous member of the Board of Directors for the YMCA Greater Monmouth and part of the year long Merger Task force within the organization which successfully merged the YMCA of Western Monmouth with Greater Monmouth in the second largest acquisition for a nonprofit in NJ's history.

He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Team Walker in Jersey City, a nonprofit founded by Seton Hall basketball legend Jerry Walker, whose mission is providing inner city children safe alternatives to the streets, receiving their Hero Award in October 2024.

This past June, in his hometown of Marlboro NJ, Craig was appointed by council to Vice Chair of the Zoning Committee where he hears bi-monthly cases regarding variance and permit applications.

In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two children (10 and 8), playing golf and following Seton Hall basketball.

brian

Brian Fitzpatrick '04

Brian Fitzpatrick, a 2004 graduate of Seton Hall University, experienced a life-altering moment on January 19, 2000, during the tragic fire in Boland Hall. The fire began just two doors down from his room, forcing Brian and his roommate to make a split-second decision to escape through their window. They were ultimately rescued by first responders using a ladder.

In the years since that night, Brian has transformed tragedy into purpose. In honor of the three classmates who lost their lives, he has dedicated himself to ensuring their memory endures through meaningful action and impact. He currently serves as a Board Member of Aspiring Kindness, a charity founded in 2010 by close friends of Aaron Karol. Since its inception, the organization has awarded 37 grants totaling more than $320,000 to local first responders, hospitals, and Seton Hall University, including the creation and funding of the Seton Hall First Responders Scholarship.

Driven to expand his impact on a national level, Brian has worked alongside his close friend and Seton Hall fraternity brother, Craig McGraw, to help develop legislation focused on fire safety and prevention—striving to ensure that tragedies like the one he experienced never happen again. With the support of Congressman Tom Kean and Congressman Josh Gottheimer, this effort led to the introduction of the Seton Hall Fire Victims Remembrance Act in January.

Seton Hall has always held a special place in Brian’s life. Following in the footsteps of his father, also a proud alumnus, Brian deepened his connection to the university where he later met his wife. His dedication to service also led him to Team Walker, a charity founded by Jerry Walker that provides underserved youth with comprehensive after-school and athletic programs. Brian has served as a board member since 2024.

Professionally, Brian is the CEO of Forge Signworks, a commercial sign manufacturing company he founded in late 2021. He resides in Westfield, New Jersey, with his wife, Jennifer, and their three daughters, Grace, Madeline, and Lily.

Brian carries with him the most important lesson he learned that night: to live each day to the fullest. This perspective guides both his personal and professional life, as he continues to make a meaningful difference while cherishing time with family and friends.

john fanta
Last Year's Master of Ceremonies (Emcee): John Fanta '17

John Fanta '17 is currently a commentator, host and reporter with FOX Sports, NBC Sports and the BIG EAST Digital Network. He has covered a wide variety of events as the voice of the BIG EAST Conference since 2017, from the conference’s legendary tournament at Madison Square Garden to multiple NCAA Tournament Final Fours. A 2017 Seton Hall School of Communication and the Arts graduate, Fanta earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism. While at The Hall, Fanta, a native of Cleveland, OH, felt truly at home and made his mark in coverage of Pirate Athletics. As the voice of the Pirate Sports Network, a fixture on 89.5 FM WSOU and a contributor to The Setonian and Pirate Television, Fanta was seen and heard covering Seton Hall sports teams and traveled over half the country covering teams throughout his four years. Because of his work, he became the first non-student athlete to receive the Seton Hall Most Valuable Pirate Award, typically given to a student-athlete who had gone above and beyond in their respective sport. He is now a proud member of the Seton Hall Alumni Board. Today, Fanta calls Denville, NJ home with his wife, Victoria, and their newborn son, Andrew. He is still very much a part of the fabric of Pirate sports, seen and heard on FOX and NBC calling Seton Hall Basketball games on TV among other college hoops. His work has also been seen on CBS Sports, ESPN’s family of networks, NBA TV and more.
