Microsoft Surface Hubs Bridge Physical and Virtual Learning Spaces

Led by the Department of Information Technology's Media Services team, in collaboration with TLTC, Walsh Library, and other campus partners, this initiative aims to bridge physical and virtual learning spaces and empower users to connect, create, and collaborate with greater efficiency and effectiveness.

The Surface Hub 2S, boasting a 50-inch wall-mounted display, fosters an immersive interactive experience. Equipped with Microsoft Teams integration, a 4K web camera, and whiteboarding capabilities, users can participate in discussions and group work, both in person and virtually. The device supports native Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, enabling real-time collaboration on documents that can be saved directly to OneDrive. Furthermore, the Surface Hub 2S supports various connectivity options, including HDMI, USB, and USB-C ports, facilitating seamless integration with personal devices.

The introduction of Microsoft Surface Hub 2S devices in the Walsh Library's study rooms is reflective of the University's broader digital transformation efforts.
