Christian Spirituality

This certificate program is open to priests, deacons, religious, and lay men and women. Wives of deacons and diaconal candidates are invited to journey together as a cohort in this program, which provides academic preparation in spirituality and a foundation for ministry, as well as opportunities for personal spiritual development. Perspectives from history, theology and spirituality assist students seeking to understand and nurture Christian spirituality. Structured in these areas, the program offers a formal way of integrating these perspectives.

A bachelor’s degree is required so that participation in graduate-level studies will be fruitful. Prospective students should also have adequate knowledge of contemporary Christian understandings (Scripture, dogmatic theology and moral theology).

Credits from the program may be applied toward a Master of Arts in Pastoral Ministry.

Headshot of Cathy Stevens

"I've attended many reflection seminars for our faith over the years and, without a doubt, this was the best. I was on fire with the Spirit when I left, and I am taking forward many new perspectives and approaches which I hope will continue to enrich my faith."

Cathy Stevens
