Fourth Faculty Retreat, Self-Transcendence and the Higher Viewpoint

Melinda Papaccio Fourth Faculty Retreat, Self-Transcendence and the Higher Viewpoint: Seeing as if through the eyes of the Divine

Directed by Prof. Melinda Papaccio
April 16, 2018

For centuries the Catholic tradition has prompted us to be self-transcendent, to go beyond the limitations of the ego and to see our world, our problems, and ourselves from what is called the higher viewpoint. While the relationship between self-transcendence and the higher viewpoint is authenticated and enhanced by our Catholic faith tradition, it can be transformative for those of other faiths as well. In this session we will consider the perspective of this elevated viewpoint, which enables us to see as if through the eyes of the Divine.
