His first assignments were as a parochial vicar at St. Paul, Ramsey and St. Andrew, Bayonne. In 1994, he served as priest-secretary to then Archbishop McCarrick, and in 1995 joined the staff of Seton Hall Prep, where he served as a faculty member and chaplain. In 2002, he was named Rector of St. Andrew's Hall, and then was appointed Rector/Dean of Immaculate Conception Seminary School of Theology, effective June 20, 2012. He holds a Bachelor of Sacred Theology from Pontifical Gregorian University, Rome, a licentiate in Sacred Theology (STL) from Pontificio Istituto Teresianum, Rome, and a Ph.D. in Educational Administration from Fordham University. Pope John Paul II named him a Chaplain to His Holiness in 2005, with the title of Reverend Monsignor.

Reverend Paul Manning, S.T.B, M.Div.

Rev. Paul Manning Ordained in 1985 for the Diocese of Paterson, Rev. Paul Manning was appointed Vicar for Evangelization and Executive Director of St. Paul Inside the Walls by Bishop Serratelli in June of 2012. His vocation was nurtured, as the eighth of ten children, in the faithful home of his large family and was discovered while studying wildlife management at Virginia Tech. After completing undergraduate studies in philosophy, he earned an S.T.B. and M. Div. at St. Mary's Seminary and University in Baltimore, MD. He ministered in parishes as parochial vicar, priest in residence, and pastor for 27 years. As diocesan vocation director for ten years, he worked with men and women in discernment and formation. He served in the field of education for 19 years as chaplain, theology teacher, president of a Catholic high school, and, most recently, as Vicar for Education. Rev. Manning sees his past priestly assignments as providential preparation for his current work and is excited to be engaged in the ministry of the New Evangelization. Convinced that God reveals himself in truth, goodness and beauty, and most especially in a relationship with Jesus, the Lord, he feels blessed to be living and working at St. Paul Inside the Walls, where these are sought and encouraged.
