Welcome to BluePrint. In an effort to better manage your printing, while providing the advantages of convenience, security and sustainability, we have implemented a print management system and process we call BluePrint. BluePrint helps us save paper by reducing the number of excess and unintentional prints. It also provides security and privacy to all print jobs since your guest credentials are required before releasing the jobs at the printer.

- As a guest, do I follow the same instructions when using a Mac.
Yes. The instructions are the same for both a Mac and PC.
- How can I get a refund?
At this time, there are no refunds being issued. However, should you experience technical difficulties while printing please contact the IT Service Desk at (973) 275-2222 or via email at ServiceDesk@shu.edu. You may also visit Lab Consultant for technical assistance and guidance using the printers.
- How long do the funds remain on the card?
Your funds will remain in your account for 365 days from the initial date of deposit into the account.
- What happens if someone forgets their password?
Should you forget the password to your account, please contact the IT Service Desk at (973) 275-2222 or via email at ServiceDesk@shu.edu. or visit our Lab Consultant station to have a request submitted for a password reset. Resets can take up to 48 hours.
- What is the min/max deposit that can be made?
The minimum deposit is $5 and the maximum is $25

- How do I deposit money into my account to print?
On the bottom left hand side of the "BluePrint" page in the "my funds" section click "add funds". A pop up field will appear allowing you to enter the amount you wish to deposit. Check "agree to pay the total" then select "continue to payment". A payment site will appear allowing you to log in with your personal pay pal account or to pay with a credit/debit card. Once payment is made, you will see an on screen receipt as well as receive a copy via email confirming your transaction. Click the "return to merchant" button at the bottom to return back to the Blueprint site and continue to print as usual.
- Do I need a card to be able to print?
No, you do not need a physical card to print. Once you send the document to the printer, you can double tab anywhere on the pharos touchscreen (pharos box located next to the printer). It will allow you to enter the username and password (created on the BluePrint site), select the document(s) you want to print and select print.
- What does it mean if the printer says paper mismatch tray 2 error?
This most often occurs when printing a PDF or a PowerPoint document. It happens when the size of the paper you've selected for printing requires a printer tray adjustment. Please allow a few minutes for the printer to reformat itself and print. It does not require any adjustments and will occur automatically. Should there be no output (nor any message confirming the automatic adjustment on the printer) please make the necessary changes on your computer and reprint. Ensure the document has been resized to 8.5 x 11.
- Can I print in color?
Yes, you can print in color. After uploading the document(s) you would like to print, select the document you wish to have printed in color and select the color option at the bottom right hand side of the page in the "print options" box. In this field, you can choose if you want to print black and white or color. The cost will automatically change to reflect the color the document will print.
- Can I print double sided? Can I print single sided?
Yes, documents print double sided by default. After uploading the document(s) you would like to print, select them and at the bottom right hand side of the page in the "print options" box where it says "sides" select the drop down arrow. There you can choose if you want to print single or double sided.
- How much does it cost to print?
If you are printing black and white it costs $0.05 per page (side) and if you are printing in color it costs $0.30 per page (side).
- What do I do if I uploaded the wrong the document?
Select the document that you do not wish to print and select the "delete" icon next to upload. This will remove the document from the list of jobs to be printed.
- Can I use my own paper to print (i.e resume paper, legal sized paper)?
It is our policy that users may not put their own paper in the printers to prevent jams and other issues. There will be no refunds in the event of misprints using your own personal paper.
- How long does my print jobs remain in the queue? How long do I have to print my documents that I've selected for printing?
All jobs submitted for printing remain in the printing queue for 60 minutes. After 60 minutes have elapsed, you will need to resend any documents you'd like to print.
