About the Center

The Center for Public Service serves as a fundraising, research and community outreach arm of the nationally recognized Department of Political Science and Public Affairs.  The department houses two graduate degree programs – a Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.) and a Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA).

The center coordinates interdisciplinary research with DPHA faculty and students, and with them provides technical assistance to a wide range of government, nonprofit and community-based organizations. The Center for Public Service also provides a number of certificate and training programs to the general public.  These include the Financial Management Certificate Program and the Board Leadership Institute.

The center also coordinates all scholarship fundraising activities for students in the Department of Political Science and Public Affair. Under the leadership of Center director Dr. Naomi Wish, the Center for Public Services has provided scholarship to hundreds of DPHA students interested in careers in the public and nonprofit sectors. Two of these scholarships are listed below.  A complete list of scholarships, along with application instructions can be found here »
