Reverend Monsignor Thomas P. Nydegger, M.Div., Ed.D., Adjunct Professor of Pastoral Theology, was ordained to the priesthood for the Archdiocese of Newark in 1992. After serving as parochial vicar at Immaculate Conception Church, Secaucus, NJ, he held several positions in the Archdiocese of Newark: Secretary to the Archbishop, Director of Vocations, and Vice-Chancellor/Assistant to the Vicar General and Moderator of the Curia. In 2000, he was appointed Vice Rector/Business Manager of Immaculate Conception Seminary School of Theology, and, in 2003, Director of Formation. In Spring 2005, Monsignor Nydegger was named Chaplain to His Holiness with the title of Monsignor. Upon successful defense of his dissertation, “The Integration of the Four Pillars of Priestly Formation According to the Fifth Edition of the Program of Priestly Formation,” he earned his Ed.D. from Seton Hall University’s College of Education and Human Services in December 2008. In 2010, Monsignor Nydegger was appointed Associate Vice President for Student Services at Seton Hall University. In July 2012, he became pastor of St. Philomena Parish, Livingston, NJ. Monsignor Nydegger teaches Ministry of Leadership.
