Samuel Gardner III, M.A. '11 currently serves as Managing Editor with CBS News Texas in Dallas - Fort Worth. Prior to relocating to DFW, Samuel was an Assignment Manager with CBS News in Philadelphia. Prior to joining CBS News, Samuel served as Assignment Editor/Futures Coverage Planner with NFL Network in Los Angeles and a before that, he worked on the National Assignment Desk at CNN. While at CNN, Gardner was a member of the 2008 Peabody Award-winning team that produced the Presidential debates and campaign coverage. Gardner has also held various positions with ABC NewsOne, WSB television in Atlanta and WSOC television in Charlotte. A graduate of Morris Brown College where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Media Arts. He went on to earn a Master of Arts degree in Strategic Communication and Leadership from Seton Hall University. Samuel has served on the Alumni Board of Directors and the President’s Advisory Council at Seton Hall and he is a huge Seton Hall Basketball fan. Samuel is a lifetime member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.
