John Smith, Ed.D.

Dr. Smith is the Program Director of the Counseling and School Counseling Online MA Programs, and also teaches in those programs as well as in the Counseling Psychology Ph.D. Program. He pursued his graduate education after a tour in the US Navy, which he left in 1964 with the rank of Lt.(j.g.), and later resigned from the Navy Reserve with the rank of Lt. He has worked professionally as a staff psychologist in an APA-Accredited Internship site, as well as a School Psychologist early in his career. He has taught full-time at Seton Hall since 1976, and until 2005, maintained a part-time psychology practiced. He served as department chair in the late 90's for several years. He is a licensed psychologist in New Jersey and New York, and is planning to return to private practice.
