Tracy Gottlieb, Ph.D.
Professor of Journalism Department of Communication and the Arts
College of Human Development Culture and Media
I am excited to return to teaching after 19 years serving the university as an administer. Most recently, I served as the vice president of Student Services, focused on the life of our students outside of the classroom. My responsibilities included Public Safety, Housing, academic advising, Career Center, Education Opportunity Program, Upward Bound, Academic Support for Student Athletes, Student Life, Health Services and Counseling. My academic research during this time focused on the issues of retention and advising.
I am excited to bring my approach to the whole student back into the classroom. I consider myself a crackerjack academic adviser in addition to a professor who understands the many issues and challenges our students face. I also look forward to re-igniting my journalistic research and again bring to light the stories and challenges early women journalists faced.
