Dan Yates has been teaching speech, communication and theatre courses with a special emphasis on performance at Seton Hall since 1992. Dan developed his understanding of communication/performance from a wide range of educational and professional experiences.
After graduating from SHU in 1980 with a BA in Communication, Dan studied performance in a variety of New York studios. He toured the country with National Players and pursued graduate studies at Catholic University, where he taught in the Hartke Theatre Conservatory, before leaving to become a member of the Round House Theatre Acting ensemble for two years.
Since then, Dan has maintained a professional performance career, earned a Masters in Communication from SHU, while teaching performance oriented communication courses and directing educational and theatrical stage productions. He is also the Producing Artistic Director of the Actor's Equity company Yates Musical Theatre for Children.

Dan's performances and productions have been seen at the Paper Mill Playhouse, Westbury Music Fair, North Shore Music Theatre, PNC Arts Center, Oakdale Music Theatre, Cape Playhouse, Starlight Musical Theatre in Indianapolis and many more. His professional experience also includes numerous commercials, voice overs, industrial videos and he has also taught at Upsala College, Kean University, Caldwell University and Montclair State University.
