Hired in 2009, Dr. Abraham Fried is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Accounting and Taxation, where he teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in financial and managerial accounting. His research interests include management’s accounting choice and lobbying behavior, security market valuation, and accounting for postretirement plans. His publications have appeared in Accounting and Finance Research, Advances in Accounting, Research in Accounting Regulation and The CPA Journal. Dr. Fried has presented his research at regional and national meetings of the American Accounting Association as well as other academic conferences. His paper on fee assessment and innovative IT solutions, co-authored with Dr. Gelb, earned the Best Paper Award at the 2013 AIS Educators Conference.
