The research interests of Giuseppe Fazari are in judicial administration and management, criminal justice system policy, process and practice, and campus crime. Before returning to academia, he was the Chief Administrative and Operations Officer for the Superior Court of New Jersey where he had overall responsibility in the areas of financial management, human resources, information systems, caseflow management, probation services, jury utilization, facilities, records management, and court services and projects. He has served as a subject matter expert for the National Center for State Courts in the areas of caseflow management and court performance standards and served as a consultant for a variety of court systems including the Supreme Court in Ukraine and the Federal Judiciary and National Industrial Court of Nigeria in the areas of case management, court security, strategic and succession planning, and business process reengineering. He was also a lead developer for the National Association for Court Management's (NACM) Core Competencies for Court Administrators.

He has been published in the Court Manager, International Journal for Court Administration, Campus Law Enforcement Journal, and Federal Probation journals, the National Center for State Courts' report series Trends in State Courts, and co-authored the NACM professional guides on court security, business continuity management, court administration, and chaired the publication Achieving and Sustaining the Green Court. He is a quarterly columnist for the Court Manager column, Management Musings, in which he discusses the application of management principles to the courts. He is the co-author of the Historical Dictionary of American Criminal Justice and is the writer, director and producer of the award-winning feature documentary, Why They Kill, distributed by the Films Media Group in New York City.
