The University community and I are very grateful to these esteemed members of our community for their readiness to serve. We are also appreciative of those faculty members who self-nominated to serve on this most important committee. Their willingness was a gift to all of us, and we owe them our thanks.

The University By-Laws state clearly that it is the duty of the Board of Regents to select the President of the University. It will be the role of the Search and Screen Committee to submit to the Board of Regents a slate of highly qualified candidates. The Committee will be called together in the coming days to receive its charge from the Board of Regents and begin its important work.

Chair, Board of Regents
