Pirate Adventure is a mandatory two-day program for all freshmen. You will meet other incoming students, professors and your mentors. You'll also receive your laptop, student ID card and Fall Semester academic schedule.
Confirm Your Attendance at Pirate Adventure
To confirm your attendance, log in to PirateNet. Your username and password were mailed to you upon receipt of your deposit. Haven't received anything? Make sure you've made your tuition deposit. It takes about two weeks after your deposit is received for your account information to be sent out. If it's been more than two weeks since you deposited, contact the Office of Freshman Studies at (973) 761-9740 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Some students need to take placement tests in English, math and/or a foreign language in order to be placed in the correct course level. Testing is based upon your SAT or ACT score. Read more about Placement Testing »

Freshman Orientation Weekend
Orientation provides a dynamic experience to connect new students to the University, to learn about resources and expectations, to build your sense of Pirate Pride. Through participation in Orientation, students are in a much stronger position to begin classes the following week. Attendance at Orientation is mandatory for new students.
