Seton Hall University Establishes the Great Minds Forward Committee

Students looking across campus from the Rotunda of the Library. In anticipation of the bright future ahead, Seton Hall University has established the Great Minds Forward committee, which is charged with envisioning the resumption of in-person activities, programs and classes. More specifically, the committee will recommend the communal and celebratory events and activities Seton Hall will undertake as the university community returns to regular operations.

"With the very positive expectation that this moment will end, we are asking committee members for their ideas and creativity to help energize the community forward." said Karen Boroff, interim provost and executive vice president. "We do not know the exact day of our return, but we do know we are moving forward and outlining what we may want to do 3 weeks before that return, two weeks before, day of and beyond."

At the core, the committee will recommend and implement events and activities that THANK, SHARE, SUPPORT and CELEBRATE.

Committee members represent many areas of the University and were nominated to serve by their vice president, dean or the faculty senate chair.

The first committee meeting was held Monday, March 30, and generated five pages of recommendations and ideas to be explored. The committee will continue to meet and flesh out these ideas in the days and weeks ahead, including the creation of a special website with detailed information on the committee's work.

Noted Provost Boroff, "The ultimate goal is to create a sense of welcome, excitement and energy for that time when we will all greet each other on the Green, celebrate Mass and worship together, shake hands and hug, share meals, sit side-by-side in class and more."
