Fr. Twomey will deliver his lecture in the Chapel of the Good Shepherd, Lewis Hall on the University's main campus in South Orange, New Jersey. All are welcome, and admission is free. Fr. Twomey, a Divine Word Missionary, was ordained on Epiphany, 1970. He completed his doctorate at the University of Regensburg, under the direction of Father Joseph Ratzinger (later Pope Benedict XVI). An accomplished author and long-serving editor of the Irish Theological Quarterly, Fr. Twomey has taught for many years in Ireland, as well as in Switzerland, Papua New Guinea, and Austria.
The Archbishop Gerety Fund for Ecclesiastical History was established by the Most Reverend Peter Leo Gerety, Archbishop Emeritus of Newark, to advance studies in ecclesiastical history, especially the history of the Roman Catholic Church in the United States. Among its various activities, the Fund sponsors lectures each year at Immaculate Conception Seminary School of Theology.
