Faculty Researchers of the Year at the Awards Ceremony
The University recently honored its 2019 cohort of Faculty Researchers of the Year, recognizing 12 faculty members for their accomplishments in the pursuit of new knowledge. This year's overall University Researcher of the Year Award winner was Paul Christiansen from the College of Communication and the Arts, who was recognized for his 2018 book published by Amsterdam University Press: Orchestrating Public Opinion: How Music Persuades in Television Advertisements in Presidential Campaigns 1952-2016, as well as scholarly articles in journals such as Music and the Moving Image.
Seton Hall also recognized eight outstanding full-time faculty as Faculty Teachers of the Year, with the overall winner being Philip Moremen of the School of Diplomacy and International Relations, a specialist in teaching Public International Law on both the undergraduate and graduate level, who garnered wide support on both the undergraduate and graduate level. Also honored were eight adjunct faculty members, with Catherine Tinker, Center for UN and Global Governance Studies, School of Diplomacy and International Relations, University winner for adjunct faculty member of the year.
The gathering took a moment to remember the late Gerard Babo of the Department of Education Leadership Management and Policy, a past winner of this award, and an outstanding teacher, administrator, researcher and servant leader who touched the lives of all those who had the privilege of working with him in the K-12 and Higher Education sectors.

Faculty Teachers of the Year at the Awards Ceremony
Sponsored by Seton Hall's Strategic Plan From Strength to Strength and the Division of Academic Affairs, this program required peer nominations and student letters of endorsement. Among the benefits of both awards are a development fund, which faculty can draw from to attend conferences on teaching or research, to obtain equipment or publications relevant to their specialties, and other support purposes.
