Join in a Celebration of Community Spirit at Seton Hall Weekend 2016  

Seton Hall WeekAll members of the University are invited to attend Seton Hall Weekend, Sept. 23 – 25, 2016.

“Seton Hall Weekend is a University tradition that celebrates our close ties enjoyed by students, parents, alumni, faculty, staff and he surrounding community,” said Events Director, Jennifer O’Sheal, who organizes the weekend.

Activities include: music and theater performances, sporting events, campus tours, food, carnival games, rides and much more.

Kick-off the weekend at the Seton Village Food Truck Festival from 5 to 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23 on Irvington Avenue in South Orange. Hang with the Seton Hall Pirate and catch a glimpse of the 2016 BIG EAST Tournament championship trophy.

Get a runner's view of campus by participating in the 32nd Annual Farinella 5K Run at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, at the Farinella Gate Starting Line.

Family fun for all ages is guaranteed. Play Jersey Shore boardwalk games, complete with prizes and Shore favorites zeppole and cotton candy; visit the Beer Garden on the University Green to sample Jersey brewed craft beer and pub food (Attendees must be 21 and over to enter); make a stop at Pirate Land, offering inflatable rides and arts and crafts activities.

For arts and culture enthusiasts, take in a live musical performance on the University Green, view the art exhibit at the Walsh Library Gallery or catch a Children’s Theater Performance of Once, In a Time of Trolls in the Theater-in-the-Round in the Bishop Dougherty University Center.

Sports fans can meet Barry Martin who shares the story of legendary alum Bob Davies ‘42 during the presentation “Bob Davies – Superstar of the Golden Era of Seton Hall Basketball” from 4 to 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 23. Attend the Athletic Hall of Fame opening and dedication ceremony at the Richie Reagan Recreation and Athletic Center, stop by the meet and greet with the Men’s and Women’s basketball teams on the University Green and be sure to cheer on the Women’s soccer team as they battle BIG EAST Conference opponent St. John’s at the Mary Jennings Memorial Game. All donations will benefit the Mary Jennings Memorial Scholarship.

Prospective students can meet the Blue Crew to take advantage of campus walking tours to learn all that the University has to offer. For those new to the community, tour historic downtown South Orange which is home to unique shops and restaurants.

All attendees are encouraged to participate in the Division of Volunteer Efforts’ (DOVE) University Weekend Philanthropy Project. Attendees can bring care package items or donate online. Items needed include men’s socks, tooth paste, tooth brushes, deodorant, razors, shaving cream, sanitary napkins, bar soap and winter gloves. In addition to bringing care package items, stop by the DOVE table on the Green to assist in assembling care packages for families in need. All care packages will be delivered to St. Joseph’s Soup Kitchen in Newark.
