Christmas at the Hall Returns with Annual Tree Lighting

Christmas Tree

The 60-foot Norway Spruce in the University Green was illuminated with 40,620 Christmas lights at the annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony in 2019.

Seton Hall University welcomes all to celebrate Christmas at the Hall with its annual Tree Lighting Ceremony on Monday, December 6 at 6 p.m. on the University Green.

Continuing to bring holiday cheer to the community with its impressive Christmas program, Seton Hall has been recognized for several years as the Best College in America for "Holiday Events" by Best College Review.

Featuring live performances from talented campus performance groups and the return of the stunning halo art structure around the University seal, the Tree Lighting Ceremony will be in-person and available via live stream, so Setonians from near and far can join in on this special campus tradition. Displayed throughout the evening will be decorated miniature trees in support of Habitat for Humanity, hot cocoa stations and plenty of blue Santa hats to go around.

The Division of Volunteer Efforts (DOVE) is running its annual Love Thy Neighbor: DOVE Toy Drive benefiting several schools and agencies in Newark, the Maplewood South Orange School District and the Don Bosco Youth Center, as well as impoverished children in Appalachia, West Virginia. Donations can be dropped off at a tent during the Tree Lighting Ceremony or at the Boland Cellar until December 14. DOVE is also accepting monetary donations to support the toy drive here.

Check out the Christmas Toolkit, complete with toolkit with digital backgrounds, coloring sheets, lawn signs and more to get in the holiday spirit before the Tree Lighting Ceremony. The Christmas Toolkit also includes the Deck the Hall Spotify Playlist with the community's favorite holiday tunes.

Holiday cheer will also be spread at these events happening throughout December:
