Two Seton Hall Degrees and One Amazing Career Ahead

Michael MoziaMike Mozia, a second time Seton Hall graduate, walked across the stage at the May 2014 commencement. In May of 2011, Mike graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Mike came back this May to collect a Doctorate of Physical Therapy after a total of seven years of hard work.

Among the several factors that attracted Mike to Seton Hall, the allure of the campus was a major influence. Mike said, "I took a campus tour and I loved it. The size wasn't too large or too small, and the campus looked beautiful." After being invited to join the prestigious Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship Association (MLKSA), he figured that it was a sign from God that Seton Hall was the right place for him.

During his years at Seton Hall, Mike picked up several certificates and years' worth of clinical experience. A highlight of his college career was becoming a brother of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc., Alpha Nu Alpha Chapter. The experience, he said recently, was rewarding and has truly developed him into a leader and made a lasting impression on him that he will carry through the rest of his life. Mike added, "MLKSA showed me the true meaning of being a servant leader through all of the community service opportunities." It is also through MLKSA that Mike met his fiancée, Josephine.

Seton Hall supported Mike and helped to foster his greater aspirations through the dedicated faculty and colleagues that worked with him over the years. When asked about how his post-graduation plans were effected by Seton Hall Mike said, "With all of the available resources, Seton Hall gave me the chance to grow." Mike plans to work in the fields of physical therapy and personal training. He finds joy in promoting fitness and wellness to those he encounters and hopes to open his own facility focusing on injury prevention.

Seton Hall has also been instrumental in inspiring Mike to be a servant leader. He explains, "To me, being a servant leader is the quintessence of altruism." Mike hopes to be an advocate in the field of physical therapy, striving to promote patient – based care to all communities. He is still active with his fraternity and helps to plan activities that benefit philanthropies such as March of Dimes and Breast Cancer Research. Mike also works as a mentor for NJSEEDS, an organization that reaches out to high school students to push them to towards good college choices. He hopes that he can positively affect people by carrying the principle of leadership that he learned at Seton Hall.

Mike plans to start working professionally in physical therapy once he passes his board exam. He has not yet decided on the setting he would like to begin his career in, but he will enjoy his last summer before diving into the professional world.
