Ellin Cohen, member of the Advisory Council of the Sister Rose Thering Fund for Education in Jewish Studies , passed away on October 22, 2015, at the age of 65.
A valuable and participatory member of the Sister Rose Thering Fund board for several years, Ellin will be sorely missed for her insightful and accurate comments and suggestions on all aspects of the work of the Fund. She played a strong role in organizing and implementing the Fund's annual Essay Competition for high school students. In addition, she was a leader in the Jewish Family Service of MetroWest NJ, serving as chair of its Holocaust Services Advisory Committee and leader of the JFS Café Europa, a social group for Holocaust survivors.
Ellin leaves behind her loving husband Fred, two grown children, Erica Rechtweg and Seth Cohen, and four grandchildren.
The Sister Rose Thering Fund mourns Ellin's passing along with her family and friends and honors her memory through her good work in the larger community.
