Academic Support Program (ASP) services are available to all students throughout all phases of the curriculum. The ASP provides services for students who may be experiencing academic difficulty and also for students who wish to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of their study strategies, test taking skills, and time management. Services are provided through individual consultation, tailored to a student's individual needs, and integrated with course/clerkship materials. The ASP also provides a series of introductory seminars during Phase I on effective study, test taking, and time management strategies for medical school. Later in the curriculum, workshops and seminars are offered to provide strategies for licensure exam preparation.
The Director of Academic Support serves as a liaison to teaching faculty and students as an advocate. Faculty development activities (seminars and individual consultations) will be provided as needed.
The Director of Academic Support will develop and manage a peer tutoring program.
