Faculty Mentorship Network
The Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine at Seton Hall University (SOM) has created a program by which junior and midcareer faculty seeking career development mentorship have access to a variety of clinicians, scientists, and academic leaders from across the Hackensack Meridian Health network, as well as through its university partners. Identified mentors bring expertise in research/scholarship and teaching, career counseling, balancing home/work responsibilities, and access to resources and professional networks. The SOM is committed to diversity and equity, and has taken steps to ensure mentorship is sensitive to, and promotes successful career trajectories, for all persons - regardless of race, ethnicity, culture, gender, sexual orientation, or religion. All SOM Academic Departments have identified mentors in waiting – poised to assist faculty as needed. The faculty mentorship network is overseen by the Office of Faculty, working closely in the research and scholarship sphere with the Office of Research and Graduate Studies.
