Joseph W. Andrushkiw Competition

This year’s Joseph W. Andrushkiw Competition was held on Saturday, November 18th, 2023, and began promptly at 10 a.m. For more information you can view this year’s information sheet here.

The Joseph W. Andrushkiw Competition is an annual mathematics problem-solving competition for New Jersey high school students that is sponsored and hosted by the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Seton Hall University.  Monetary prizes will be awarded to the top-scoring students. Plaques are also awarded for the five highest team scores.

Examination

The 90-minute exam consists of 16 questions weighted with respect to their degree of difficulty. The subjects covered include Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Theory of Equations, Combinatorics, Probability and miscellaneous elementary topics in Mathematics. 

Calculators may not be used.
