Joseph A. Unanue Latino Institute Collection

The Joseph A. Unanue Latino Institute Collection is housed in The Monsignor William Noé Fields Archives and Special Collections Center and the Walsh Library Gallery. The collection was established in April 2008 by a generous gift from Joseph and Carmen Ana Unanue with the acquisition of the lifetime documents of the Puerto Rican poet, suffragist and composer, Trina Padilla de Sanz (1864-1957). The collection includes more than 700 personal correspondence with world renowned literary figures and other influential individuals of the era, original music and compositions and family photographs. The collection will grow to include other major figures of notoriety in Latin American history.
