Meet the Team

The OIP staff warmly welcomes you to Seton Hall. We are ready to assist you in your study abroad and international scholar needs. Please come in during our office hours or make an appointment to meet with our staff to discuss any questions you may have about the programs offered by the office.

Maria Bouzas-Sbrigato
Director of International Programs/PDSO/RO

Maria has served as the Director of the Office of International Programs since 2012. She oversees study abroad as well as international student and scholar services at Seton Hall University. As an alumna of Seton Hall University, Maria received her Master's in International Relations. During her undergraduate studies at the University of Delaware she pursued a study abroad year in Japan.  Her study abroad experience and triple degree in Italian, Spanish and Japanese led her to pursue a career in student mobility. Maria speaks five languages and loves to travel! Some of her adventures have led her to Israel, Turkey, Peru, South Korea, numerous countries in Europe and more! Maria's favorite part about her job is encouraging students who have never traveled abroad to get out and see the world.

Douglas Cantelmo

Program Director, Rome Connection

Doug joined the Office of International Programs in March 2021. In his role as Assistant Director, Doug supports the mission and operations of OIP. Doug is a double alumnus of St. John's University and spent over six years at his alma mater growing, designing and leading immersive study abroad programs on-the-ground in Rome. Beyond Italy, Doug has traveled through five continents and is excited to share his passion for international education with the Seton Hall community. He is focused on creating engaging platforms for cultural immersion. Doug is here to help every Seton Hall student translate their passions into life-changing international experiences!

Carolina Barba
Student Worker

Carolina joined the Office of International Programs on the Spring of 2019. She has held many responsibilities through her time on the team including assisting the public relations and marketing efforts and communicating with current and prospective international students. Carolina is passionate about traveling, learning new languages and cooking. After graduation she plans to pursue her Master's in Marketing and International Business and ultimately work at a multinational company and build her own company!

Area of Study: Marketing and Minor in International Business

Theresah Oduro
Student Worker

Theresah joined the Office of International Programs in the summer of 2022. Her responsibilities on the team include assisting with I-20 processing and researching ways to improve the I-20 and visa process for international students. Theresah is passionate about languages, having worked as a language tutor, which has taught her how to embrace diversity and collaborate with people, increasing her interpersonal relationship skills. After graduating she intends to pursue a career in diplomacy and aspires to work for the UN.

Lauren Diawatan
Student Worker

Lauren joined the Office of International Programs in the summer of 2022. Her responsibilities on the team include developing marketing content and assisting communications for study abroad programs, as well as interacting with prospective and current international students. Lauren also serves on the Honors Program Student Advisory Board and deeply enjoys musical theatre. After graduating Seton Hall, she intends to pursue a Master's in Economics and hopes to work in academia or consulting in the future.

Area of Study: Economics & Philosophy, minors in Political Science & Diplomacy and International Relations

Brendan McLean
Student Worker

Brendan began working in the Office of International Programs in June 2022. Brendan uses his skills in Graphic Design and Art to create and design projects that are used by OIP. His major is Animation and he's made signs, posters, flyers, with more to come. He enjoys working out, traveling to the Caribbean, and, most importantly, meeting and connecting with new people. He has a unique perspective in art and design, which helps him come up with great ideas during projects. He intends to pursue a career in animation or graphic design after graduation!
