Submission Guidelines

Submissions of IRB protocols are required in two formats: electronic and paper

Electronic submission

There are two options for sending electronic copies of IRB applications.
1. The entire IRB application can be scanned by Teaching, Learning and Technology Center (TLTC) at no charge. TLTC is open during normal University hours to serve you. No need to call or email ahead.
2. A researcher can create his/her own PDF file.

Paper submission:

A paper copy of the IRB application and supporting documents, complete with the signatures and Consent Form on letterhead stationery, must be delivered to the IRB office by the researcher or his/her designee within 2 business days of electronic submission.  Use of US Postal Service or other vendor delivery service, as well as interoffice mail, is acceptable.
