Resident Assistant Info Sessions

Starting in late October, Housing and Residence Life begins the process to select Resident Assistants for the following year. The Resident Assistant positions is an integral part of the mission of HRL to build safe and inclusive residence hall communities and develop students to be servant leaders and global citizens.

The Resident Assistant (RA) lives in a residence hall and serves as a resource and mentor for a floor of 20 to 55 residents. The RA's primary responsibility is to act as a facilitator for this residence hall community and to enhance the social, educational, spiritual, and cultural development of the residents. Resident Assistants are also responsible for enforcing policy and addressing conflicts within the residence halls.

Six information sessions are held throughout October, November, December, and January. More details about the positions and selection/application process are given at these sessions. If you are interested in this opportunity, you MUST attend one of the Information Sessions. Keep an eye out in October for advertisements throughout campus about the dates, times, and locations of these sessions.

Registration is not required for in person information sessions; however, to attend a virtual information session please register using this form and the session invitation will be sent to you no later than a day before the session.

Those interested in a Resident Assistant position are encouraged to become involved on campus and in their residence hall, get to know their Housing and Residence Life staff and utilize the Career Center for their resume writing and interview skills workshops.
