Christian Marks, MS, ATC, LAT, CSCS, '08, has applied his Athletic Training skills in a variety of settings and on May 16, he will return to the place that started his journey into the field of Athletic Training, Seton Hall University. Serving as the Commencement Speaker for the School of Health and Medical Sciences (SHMS) Graduate Commencement and Hooding Ceremony, Marks will share his professional and personal guidance with the graduating Class of 2019.
After earning his bachelor's in Exercise Physiology at Rutgers University, Marks earned his Master's degree in Athletic Training from Seton Hall University.
Marks began his professional years treating NCAA Division II collegiate athletes at Seton Hill University, another namesake of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton.
Marks then made connections with Cirque du Soleil while volunteering at the NATA Clinical Symposium, which began his career in the performing arts. He spent 6 years helping the acrobats, dancers, and singers of Cirque du Soleil as an athletic trainer and interim department head before moving on to work with the World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. (WWE) where he is currently. He continues to push for high quality care through effective communication and documentation practices and emergency preparedness as he continues to be a leader in the care of athletes worldwide.
Through his education in the Department of Athletic Training, Christian learned the importance of patient-centered care through a model of interprofessional practice and collaboration. The knowledge has equipped him to deliver high quality care to the athletes and patient works with. It is an honor to have a graduate of the school return to address the graduating class this year, welcome back Mr. Christian Marks.
