
Student Health Insurance
Full-time students are required to have health insurance coverage. You will receive a charge automatically for the Seton Hall student health insurance plan, but you will still need to either Waive or Opt-In to coverage.
How to Waive or Opt-In
- If you are already covered by a health insurance plan, such as a parent’s plan, visit studentcenter.uhcsr.com/shu and click “Waive Coverage”
- If you do not have health insurance coverage already, visit studentcenter.uhcsr.com/shu and click “Opt-In”
Deadline to Waive or Opt-In
September 4 (valid for 1 year; no spring waiver or opt-in required)
- If starting spring semester: February 3rd

Undergraduate
- 1-year policy period August 15th – August 14th (the following year)
- If starting Spring semester: policy period January 14th – August 14th

Part-Time Students
Students who are part-time may sign up for insurance coverage directly through UnitedHealthcare by visiting https://uhcsr.com/shu.
