Curriculum: Executive Ed.D., K-12 School Administration

The Executive Doctorate in Education emphasizes courses that prepare scholarly practitioners to improve practice, policy, and theory. Courses pertain to three broad categories: content, methods, and research. Content courses refer to contemporary and key topics—such as organizational theory, policy analysis, curriculum design, and diversity, equity, and inclusion. Methods courses concentrate on the analytic tools necessary to collect, analyze, and share data for evidence-based decision making. Research courses provide opportunities, with guidance from faculty members, for students to design and conduct dissertation studies. A hallmark of the Executive Ed.D. program is the emphasis on supporting students along coursework as they develop their own research.
