University Inclusion Committee

The university-wide Committee on Inclusion's mission is to foster conversation and focus attention on our universal desire to make our campus a welcoming community for all. We define diversity in terms of differences among people in their race and ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, family income levels, national or regional origin, religion, age, disability status, or political perspectives. We define inclusion as the extent to which all people feel welcomed, respected, and valued. We define a sense of community as the feeling of being part of an inclusive community built on mutual respect and appreciation.

The overall theme of our inclusivity work is "self-reflection." We ask ourselves what each of us can do or say to make those with whom we study or work become that much more welcomed and valued here at Seton Hall. There are several facets or segments of our work. These are as follows:

  1. Self-Reflection and the Undergraduate University Core
  2. Self-Reflection for Faculty Development
  3. Self-Reflection for the Entire University Community
  4. Self-Reflection and the University Life Course and Student Involvement
  5. The Inclusion Committee and the Campus Climate Survey

We want to ensure that Seton Hall, as a Catholic university that espouses a commitment to servant leadership, is truly a place where all of our members of our community feel and are valued and welcome. Should you have any questions or concerns, please click on the "Contact Us" page.
